Warehouse management

« All solutions

Space, stock, equipment, technology, and people — these essential resources must be managed to optimize warehouse processes and operations. Therefore, choosing a warehouse management solution, whether a simple application or a more complex multi-level system, is crucial.

There is still a common belief that a warehouse management solution is only necessary for large companies, such as distribution centers or third-party logistics providers. However, just because you operate in a small or medium-sized company does not mean you face lower customer demands or have more favorable agreements with your suppliers. On the contrary, you need to stay competitive in your market, which means that logistics is a highly sensitive part of your business.

Our warehouse management solutions are based on long-term experience and successfully implemented projects in the field of warehouse management. This is why, when working with you, we understand the system functionalities you need and which areas of warehouse management require greater focus to achieve better results and ensure a fast return on investment.

For warehouse management, we use advanced technologies, including Voice and RFID, as well as wireless radio frequency scanning equipment. This ensures inventory accuracy, operational traceability, efficient resource utilization and control, optimal warehouse space usage, and real-time data access.

We guarantee not only professional implementation, employee training, and technical support but also continuous updates on new solutions and their potential applications.

Manual picking systems

Order picking is the most resource-intensive warehouse process. Therefore, many solutions are specifically designed to optimize the picking area and improve efficiency.

Solutions can vary greatly, from implementing new warehouse equipment to integrating specialized IT systems. The best approach is to combine both options. We offer several manual order picking systems to enhance process efficiency. When selecting a system, we advise our clients on the best choice based on their specific needs. We have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining such systems.

Our clients who have chosen one of our manual order picking systems have significantly improved their warehouse operations. Order picking speed has increased by up to 30%, human resource needs have been reduced by up to 50%, and warehouse throughput has tripled.

RF picking

Manual order picking system that uses radio frequency terminals.

Voice picking

Manual order picking system where operators receive information via voice through headsets.

P2L picking

Manual order picking system where the operator is guided to the exact warehouse location by colored indicator lights.

Conveyor picking

Solution designed to optimize the customer order picking process using conveyors.

Multi Client Picking Cart

Order picking solution where the operator can pick up to 8 (16) orders simultaneously.

Manual sorting systems

We can deliver a wide range of manual sorting systems for all types of products. These manual sorting systems guide operators in the sorting process visually or through RF terminal. With this guidance operators sort SKU products to locations.

In a selection phase we can assist our customers with advise on the best solution for their specific needs. We have a wide experience with implementation of these systems and can base our advise on experience numbers. In close cooperation with our customer we engineer the best system design and lay-out for your specific situation. Our own specialized employees take care of the complete installation and technical implementation of the sorting solution in your logistics process.

Our sorting solutions are controlled by our own software that is especially developed for these applications. We can interface with almost all imaginable ERP and WMS systems.

Cross-dock solution

Cross-dock is a distribution process where received goods are not stored in a warehouse or storage zones, but are immediately prepared for outbound shipments to customers or other warehouses.

Cross-dock solution optimizes labor costs since there is no need to move goods into storage or retrieve them from it. This solution is particularly useful for those looking to reduce warehouse inventory and for those using Just-in-Time inventory management. It is indispensable in intermediate distribution warehouses dealing with fast-moving goods.

We offer a solution for goods prepared by suppliers for specific delivery points, as well as goods that need to be distributed within the warehouse. Cross-dock system can be part of Vision Warehouse Management System and can also be integrated with sorting systems like Screen2Sort, Scan2Sort, Touch2Sort, and Put2Light, optimized for product and order logistics. This system is used by retailers, wholesalers, distribution, and transit warehouses.

Opportunistic cross-dock (where the system indicates which goods should be sent directly to the dispatch area upon receiving) is suitable for all types of warehouses. Cross-dock product flows can be effectively combined with conventionally picked or sorted items in shipments.

Cross-dock system supports any goods or packages. Wireless technology allows operation throughout the warehouse without requiring special workstations. Accurate and up-to-date stock levels and order statuses are maintained.

Implementation examples:

  • Food distribution in retail networks
  • Seasonal goods distribution in retail networks
  • Handling urgent shipments for courier services
WEB access

WEB access module provides the ability to view Warehouse Management System data in real time from any location, including:

  • Inventory levels
  • Incoming orders and arriving shipments
  • Outgoing orders and shipments
  • Transportation orders and reservations of ramps
  • SKU nomenclature cards

All data is updated in real time. Access is granted ONLY to authorized (verified) users. Each user has a separate login name and a unique password. The data visible to each user is determined by the system configuration and the user's assigned permissions.

If WEB access is granted to partners and customers, they can register their planned incoming and outgoing orders, monitor their product stock, reserve ramp times, and more. This solution significantly reduces the manual data entry within the company and allows for faster information exchange with partners. This is especially useful when automated system integration for different companies is too expensive. Of course, such users can monitor only their own data.

WEB access module of Warehouse Management System can be easily integrated with the company's main web portal, without requiring additional logins, while maintaining a consistent color scheme and overall design structure.

Billing for Warehouse Management Services

Billing for Warehouse Management Services module is used when goods belonging to different companies are processed in the warehouse.

Since the business management and financial systems of different companies differ in their capabilities, the billing module can be used in various modes:

  • Simple accounting of provided services
  • Billing for provided services by generating invoices

Billing module of Warehouse Management System must be flexible and properly integrated with the company’s financial or business management system.

Integration with Financial Systems

Service descriptions in both Warehouse Management and Financial Systems are synchronized automatically or manually (e.g., code, name, units of measure, price, related department). At the same time, additional parameters (e.g., calculation method, frequency) must be specified in the service card of Warehouse Management System.

If only simple accounting of provided services is performed, Warehouse Management System only registers the quantities of services provided and transmits them to Financial System for further processing. However, if invoices need to be issued immediately or if additional information, not accessible to Financial System, needs to be specified, the invoices can be generated in Warehouse Management System. In this case, the data for the generated invoices is sent to Financial System.

Configuration

The system’s service accounting and billing rules can be modified through the general system settings or specific client card parameters.

For each client, a separate list of services provided to them, along with applicable prices, is generated. Default services and their application rules are also specified.

The client card can define the level of detail for service accounting – whether it is for the total period, by orders, or by deliveries/shipments.

Registration of Provided Services

Depending on the client and service card settings, the quantities of services provided can be calculated automatically, semi-automatically, or manually.

  • Automatically: Most commonly used for warehousing services.
  • Semi-automatically: For loading and other directly provided warehouse services.
  • Manually: For various non-systematic services.

The provided services are grouped into service sales orders. If subcontractors are specified when registering the quantities of provided services, service purchase orders can also be generated.

Invoice Generation

Depending on the overall system and specific client card configuration, invoices can be generated automatically (when the order is completed or on specified days of the month) or manually.

Generated invoices can be sent via email.

Yard Management System

Yard Management System provides the ability to manage and efficiently control the movement of arriving vehicles and their drivers in real-time, as well as the progress of processing transportation orders.

Main functionality of the system:

  • Ramp planning
  • Ramp time reservation
  • Ramp load management
  • Registration of incoming vehicles
  • Registration of outgoing vehicles
  • Registration of incoming and outgoing documents

Data on the ramps work schedules can be automatically synchronized with external information systems (e.g., Warehouse Management System). Customers can independently book ramp time by creating transportation orders on the online self-service portal.

The system includes a set of reports that provide the ability to analyze historical data – carrier/customer reliability, durations of order fulfillment stages, differences between planned and actual times and durations, and ramp and zone utilization.

During the transportation order processing, it may be necessary to register various additional operations (e.g., weighing full and empty vehicles), so the system allows for easy addition of operations to the list of registered actions.

Depending on the client's needs and capabilities, various additional equipment can be used:

  • RFID tags can be used to control ramp opening and closing, and to automatically register the time of document submission and issuance.
  • Video surveillance cameras can be used for automatic vehicle number plate scanning and tracking of movements within the area.
  • Automatic registration of vehicle weighing results, linked to a specific transportation order.

Specialized boards, speakers, or SMS messages can be used to inform drivers within the territory.

Integration with ERP

Warehouse Management System Vision easily integrates with any ERP, Financial or other IT systems.

In most cases integration is performed with these the most popular ERP systems used by our customers:

  • Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision)
  • Microsoft Dynamics AX (Axapta)
  • Rivile
  • Pragma
  • EuroSkaita
  • 1C
  • Butenta

Please note that WMS Vision also integrates with other ERP/Financial/IT systems. The key requirement to ensure a smooth integration process is the support from the installer of your ERP or other integrated system.
